About the Artist

Preston Anderson

Preston Anderson’s work dissects life’s critical moments that flirt with an immersive world realistic enough to believe in, but cosmic enough to dream in. Each painting aims to build upon the narrative of human life towards the actuality of existence and draw conclusions as to what it means to be alive. His work realistically illustrates figures taking ownership of their lives and challenging assumptions about their identity as they discover their place within the world.

Employing a fusion of photo-real and surreal styles, his art becomes a manifestation of the perpetual conflict inherent in our perception of the world. His work pulls inspiration from modern challenges and from life conversations he has with his subject model.
